John Wheeler has worked in trenchless technology in the Middle Easter region since 1973. He has held at his current role at Al Naboodah for two years, where he is responsible for all aspects of operations and manages 130 people. John specializes in microtunneling and directional drilling where he has worked with Nakheel on the successful completion of the Palm Jumeirah.

Robert Walters is the founder and Chairman of Anticorrosion Protective Systems, a company based in the Arabian Gulf State of the United Arab Emirates, operating throughout the Middle East, North Africa, India, Pakistan and Asia. He has over 30 years experience in the field of corrosion engineering and contracting, particularly relevant to pipelines. The APS group now employs over 700 staff and operates from 9 regional offices throughout The Middle East, India and Asia.

Bassam Mansour is a career railway Engineer, with over 20 year’s hands-on railway experience. Internationally, Bassam has held various senior positions in the construction of international railway projects including Channel Tunnel (UK), and tell recently he was the Director of Engineering for Dubai Metro. Bassam has contributed to many international railway standards and journals and had published over 10 papers on the subject of railways Projects planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance.

Tom Sangster is a professional civil engineer with 25 years’ senior level experience in technical, operational and commercial management of underground infrastructure and geotechnical projects internationally. He is the past President of the Swiss Society for Trenchless Technology (CHSTT). His specialist areas of expertise are market investigation and analysis; risk management; condition assessment strategies; QA and compliance strategies; and procurement and contract management strategies in challenging underground infrastructure projects.

Hassanin Hashim has been in his role at NCSS for the past 7 years and has been working in the trenchless technology industry for the past 12 years. He is directly responsible for organizing all HDD processes to ensure high performance. Hassanin Hashim most significant accomplishment whilst within the industry was the installation of 1,374 meters of onshore water pipeline from Abu Dhabi Mainland to Samaliah Island.

Dec Downey PhD C Eng is a Principal with Jason Consultants Group based in the United Kingdom. He is responsible for the company’s activity in sewer and water mains rehabilitation and is presently engaged in major sewer and water projects in Hong Kong, Largo FL and New Delhi. Dr Downey has some 35 years experience in pipe manufacture, installation and rehabilitation. Until 2002 he worked for the US based global market leader and was responsible for operations management, marketing and technical support in Europe and Asia. Dr Downey has published some fifty papers on pipeline rehabilitation and serves on many industry committees including the Pipeline Industries Guild Pipelines Panel and the CIWEM Editorial Board. In 1992 he received the Kurose award from the Japan Microtunnelling Association for dedication to technology transfer

Qaiss has project managed and planner for the developments of infrastructure systems for urban developments within Auckland and Manukau cities in New Zealand. Qaiss has also designed and managed waste water and storm water infrastructure. He has extensive knowledge in the design and implementation of infrastructure projects including asset management aspects.

Saad has extensive experience in water, wastewater and other civil engineering fields. In his thirty three years worth of experience Saad has widespread experience in the construction and rehabilitation of wastewater and water networks using different trenchless techniques. During the period between late 1995 and early 2008 Saad has completed numerous projects in various capacities and roles. These projects included construction or upgrade of over 84 kilometres of new and existing water mains and gas distribution networks, construction of over 43 kilometers of wastewater and stormwater networks and rehabilitation of over 35 kilometers of existing wastewater and storm water pipes.
